Modest Needs Article

Rika Gorn recently interviewed me for an article she wrote about this great charity more people should know about.  The article has been published and you can find it here: http://www.cultureshook.org/Modest%20Needs.htm
To celebrate my 41st birthday, I recently made a donation of $41.00  and challenged my friends (and now, my readers!) to make a donation of their own.
I hope you will check it out in order to learn more about the type of help that is available to people that need it, that you may know someone you can refer, and perhaps if you are able you can make a donation - and thanks so much for everything!

Swing West Coast Style!

Well last Saturday I began taking West Coast Swing lessons at Rungo with Jeremy...this coming Saturday he is teaching whips (if you don't know you have to come to class to find out:) and the class is open to all levels.  If you have not seen this style of dance it is a great looking relaxed partner dance that is very versatile and suitable for a lot of contemporary music.  I wasn't sure I wanted to learn it but one night out seeing one gentleman leading 2 ladies and a second night out seeing another couple dancing it made me say "Oh La La, I want to look and feel like THAT!"

Watch the video and you will see what I mean.  If you've got $12 bucks to spare come learn some whips this Saturday!

Wonderful Day

What a great day!  Got up and got some work in at the sacrifice of my yoga class, had an uplifting phone conversation where I got to be a supportive listener (then do my favorite thing and offer advice!), made an airport run to pick up an old friend for part 2 of our visit...toured the Dali Museum, was treated to becoming  a 'patron' of Dali (thank you universe for answering yet another prayer... time to DREAM BIG!), crossed off my list: going to The Venue and having sushi (yummy. yummy sushi) and spend an eve maxin and relaxing at home where I get to do some much needed catch up on the blog....only to get a call to find I am needed on a dance floor (how nice to be needed!) and have someone else call wanting to buy a round of drinks....I know, i know, what am I doing still sitting at home????
