More on Mary Kay from Beauty Board

One product that I used to love was the Silken Hands kit. It was a body scrub, body wash, and an pink (very) emollient cream for your hands. Talk about silk.
have fun at your party.

Before mineral products, their eyeshadows and blushes had the best pigment ever!

I have comb. skin and I use the creamy cleanser. It is awesome and I can use it on my eyes and it removes my eye makeup. I also use the mineral powder foundation and it is the best !If you prefer an eye make-up remover it is excellent also.I also use and like the Ultimate mascara. Hope this helpful.

My sister gave me some Satin Lips a couple of months ago. I love this stuff!

My husband uses their Timewise lotion with SPF, it is very light.

They have a great eye makeup remover.

I haven't tried much but they have a hand scrub that is terrific...I can't remember the name of it....But it really is terrific.... Satin Hands? I think it's 4 pieces...but it's worth
the money!!

You can't go wrong with the Satin Hands Collection

Love their Extra Gentle Cleansing Creme - it has been around forever and takes off anything (you have to ask for it). I also love their night creme for my hands and legs - yes- the bright orange stuff. Works great in the winter when I am so very dry. Their Timewise Cleanser is nice as well - I use it in the a.m.

I purchased their Coastal Colors eyeshadow palette, the one with green/brown/blue and the blue eyeliner... I love the eyeshadow palette - Also the vacation get-away set is really nice. I love the gloss in that little kit! Enjoy! I really would love to buy a large compact and fill it up...but I don't really need it! ha ha!!

I have used the TimeWise moisturizer (Normal to Dry) for the past 7 years as my nighttime moisturizer. I LOVE it...refuse to be without it!!!
I also love the lipglosses (similar to MAC, in my opinion)
You also can't go wrong with the satin lips kit or the cooling eye gel. These are also some of my faves!

,

can you spare $1?

If anyone care to sponsor my friend Donna (doing a 5K race for the american heart association) and take a tax deduction, great!

The link will only accept a min. $25.00 donation however you can print an mail a donor form with your $1.00 check. Imagine how much we would raise if everyone came up with a single dollar!

I know it may be a bad time to ask for money - but if you have an extra dollar to donate, it would be greatly appreciated!

Canoli Cookies - Delicious, made by hand in the USA

If you need a treat for your next party I can highly recommend these delicious treats!

I wish I had a photo because they are beautiful to look at.  Picture 2 almond flavored cookies, the consistency of a tender shortbread or pecan sandie, sandwiching the real deal - thick chocolate chippy canoli filling.  They are dusted with powdered sugar, showing they are freshly made, and placed into a white fluted paper cup - ready to be picked up by guests and consumed with delight!box o goodies

I profile the cookies because they are my fave - but you can have an assortment that includes carrot cake, chocolate ganache and more.

They are $1.25 each, 16 for $20.00 - your host/hostess will love you if you bring these, they are a sure way to get invited back!  To Order call 364-6487.

Garden Fairies Community Enhancement Projects have raised funds for numerous entities; hospitals, day care centers, parks, community centers and local municipalities.

   - In 2004 The Garden Fairies "Artistic Garden Tour" raised $8000 for beautification projects at Fred Howard Park in Tarpon Springs.

   - Two years ago The Garden Fairies (with additional assistance from the Garden Fairy Pro Artist Group of Seven) donated $155,000 worth of time and materials to a community courtyard garden/ outdoor classroom in St. Pete which helped The Front Porch Community Redevelopment Association procure $200,000 in funding from the State of Florida. See the FP project at  http://www.ourfpneighborhoods.org/

   - 2009- Funds raised from The Garden Fairies "Art in the Garden Tour" will go to the creation of a pocket park, currently a vacant lot in downtown Tarpon Springs. We will be doing a large mosaic mural and building a park which will be used for outdoor events; concerts, a green market, festivals and a green space for all to enjoy.

   - 2010- preliminary plans are being developed for a project in Safety Harbor.

Mineral Foundation from MaryKay!

I have a friend who loves to try the latest products and she sent me these comments from BeautyBoard Re: Mary Kay Mineral foundation!

Mar 26, 2009 5:34 PM

  • I agree with all of you. I really like it. That is saying a lot since so many products irritate and break out my ultra sensitive skin. I was very fearful of trying it, but my friend kept encouraging me to try it; I'm glad I did. BE, by the way, broke me out and didn't give me the same nice feel and finish. I sure hope I didn't just jinx myself. :O
    Laura

Mar 26, 2009 5:26 PM

  • I use it over the MK tube foundtion because I need a lot of coverage. I love the way it makes my skin feel soooo smooth!

Mar 26, 2009 5:00 PM

  • I too use the MK mineral powder foundation and brush and like it very much. BE (Bare Essentials) made my face itch and didnt look too good on my skin.

Mar 26, 2009 4:36 PM

  • MK mineral foundation is a good product. My DD uses it faithfully. The MK brush for the mineral powder is the bestest around. I own several of these brushes and use them for everything, blushes, finishing powder, bronzers.

Mar 26, 2009 4:10 PM

  • A friend of mine just started selling Mary Kay, and I tried their mineral foundation. I have been using BE and really liking it, but I must say I really like this foundation too. The "shine" of BE never bothered me before, but the MK doesn't have any shine at all, and I think gives a nice finish. The brush that they recommend for it it really nice as well--very soft! Just thought I'd pass this along for any one who might want to try it!

If you want to order it contact ME! click here to order!

I <3 MK oil free eye makeup remover!

 IMG_0008

          I love this product...

for years I used the Lancome      equivalent (http://www.lancome-usa.com/skincare/eye-makeup-remover/bi-facil.htm), then I received a free sample from my consultant and I was an instant convert.

Lancome is 4.2 oz for $26.00.

MK is 3.7 oz for only $14.00, clearly the better value.

Shake until blended.

Apply onto a cotton pad. Gently wipe away all traces of eye makeup. Suitable for sensitive skin. Fragrance-free. Oil-free. Suitable for contact lens wearers. Ophthalmologist-tested. Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover is a unique two-phase product that gently removes even waterproof eye makeup without rubbing, pulling or tugging.

Things I love about Mary Kay

I decided to start a commentary on the things I learn and the products I use that i think are great.  Here are a couple things I LOVE about Mary Kay Products:

"We do not do animal testing.

To reflect its compassion for animals, Mary Kay Inc. does not conduct, or request on its behalf, any testing of products or ingredients on animals. In addition, we are one of the largest cosmetics companies to have signed the Coalition for Consumer Information pledge promising never to do animal testing at any time in the future.

In fact, Mary Kay Inc. issued a moratorium on animal testing more than a decade prior to signing this pledge, and we actively support globally recognized organizations in the search for alternative testing methods.

We stand behind our products with a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee.

Consumers who use Mary Kay® products are among the most loyal in the world because Mary Kay® products are safe, effective and deliver the benefits they want. Mary Kay Inc. stands behind its products sold by Independent Beauty Consultants. If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with any Mary Kay® product, it will be replaced without charge, exchanged or the full purchase price refunded following its return to your authorized Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. If she is no longer active, it can be returned to the Company with proof of purchase."

If it's not two things it's a third...

My biggest little dog, Hobo, managed to break his toe.  I'm hoping that is all it was.

 H

He was out back, and I was in the office hooking up the printer when I hear him giving his 'Hmmm', which he does when he want my attention.  When I look outside I find he has somehow imprisoned himself inside the legs of one of the two the barstools under the kitchen pass thru window.  He is sitting there inside the legs and rungs, and can't get back out.  I almost went to take a photo it was so comical looking.

I lifted the barstool up over him and expected him to dart off but he did not move.  I picked him up and sat him inside on the carpet and put the two others on beds, brought out a treat and he would not stand or move forward. Called the vet and they worked me in.  Gave me some pain pills and said they can buddy tape to a pallet but usually this annoys the dog more.

He broke one of the center two toes which do the majority of the weight bearing, it's is broken on a diagonal clear thru but it is in perfect placement  -his hind left foot.  I guess he was jealous of the other two getting sick enough for peanut butter pills and he decided he need one also.  Thankfully it does not appear to involve his spine and I was concerned because he was not wanting to even stand on either foot.  Have to call tomorrow with a report.  For now he's on his bed rest!

Busy as a Bee...

That's me! I have had the pleasure of out of town company that arrived in time to help me celebrate my birthday and is leaving after Easter.   In order to spend some time with my company I did take one day off work, and have managed to be offline by noonish each working day.  I limited my time at the dance studio, and found I did not wither and die without a daily trip (or 2 or 3) to the studio as I expected I might.  We have gone window shopping at dance dresses at several studios just for fun and out to eat several lunches at Panera, which has to be my favorite 'fast food chain'.

We have gone rummaging and played with Mary Kay products. I made my second MK order - and I have a third to be completed after model nite on April 17th where someone lucky will win $100 cash.  It could be you if you can come to the event!

My snowbird tenant is moving so I am on the hunt for a new occupant.  If you know anyone looking to rent a 2/2/2 in Highland Lakes (55+) please comment.  Had to run over and replace a sprinkler head.

Lastly one of my pets has been under the weather and hopefully we will get to the bottom of things and be on the mend tomorrow.  I didn't get much sleep last nite over that.

Tonite it's dinner at Hapa (finally), then maybe out for salsa dancing.  Ttomorrow definitely salsa at Rungo from 8:30 - midnite.  Sunday is Easter Brunch in The Villages, then back to my normal routine. This moment I'm enjoying the weather...it's a fabulous day.
