Eagerly anticipated, the semi-annual auctions at the Salmagundi Club consistently offer a variety of fine art by established and emerging artists. Quite possibly the best-kept secret in the New York art world, the auctions enable novice and experienced collectors to buy high quality fine art at affordable prices. A portion of sales benefit the Club, allowing it to offer art exhibitions, Artist Roundtables, art lectures and other events to the public. Bids start at $250 for original paintings, $150 for photography, and $400 for sculpture.

This exhibition features works in all media which must include a pear, some sort of plant, a shiny or reflective object, an egg, and a butterfly. The idea is for each artist to be creative and have fun with these objects in one image.EVENTS

Artists Roundtable -- "The Contours of the Face" Sculpture Demonstration by Mira Welnowska

Mira Welnowska, a renowned sculptress, creates award winning works of art in the Realist Tradition. She has studied at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, the New York Academy of Figurative Art, and the Art Students League of New York. In this demonstration, she will make references to anatomy and proportion, illustrations from classical text, and composition.
