RE-GIFTING

A British tradition I have always admired is Boxing Day.  The day after the Christmas, also known as Second Christmas.

IMG_0049Again this year people who have been so very generous to me and my family.  Hopefully this does not sound ungrateful - I've already received a half dozen gifts, some that I have exchanged for something i found to be more useful.

At my post holiday gathering  we will include a" re-gift exchange"!  Anyone attending is invited to bring along less desirable gifts in an attempt to swap them at the party.  Any unwanted remnants will then be donated to charity.

I feel this is a good way to be authentic about my wishes for 2009 - to live a more streamlined and clutter free life, unencumbered by things that i do not love dearly that others can make better use of - regardless of cost or condition of the item.  I believe that letting go leaves room for more and i am looking forward to a bountiful 2009, full of all the good things i am wishing for (not only for myself but for others).
